Federal defense, dual-use technology, and the partnerships that move both forward.

SkyGround works with the Department of Defense and the broader national security community. We bring dual-use technology and industry partnerships into that work.

01Focus

Four areas of focus.

SkyGround is a credentialed firm working across defense, national security, dual-use technology, and the partnerships that connect them. No single area defines the company.

Read the full overview
  1. 01

    Defense and National Security

Technical program work with the Department of Defense, allied defense partners, and the broader national security community. This covers capability development and the paths that move new technology from research into federal programs of record.

  2. 02

Systems Integration and Technical Program Delivery

Program architecture, acquisition strategy, systems engineering, and delivery. Our leadership has run large federal technical programs through requirements, integration, testing, and transition into fielded capability.

  3. 03

    Dual-Use Technology Development

Capability with both commercial and defense application. We engage technology where its value crosses sectors and work with technical and industry partners on the certification, integration, and operational steps each market requires.

  4. 04

    Industry and Policy Engagement

Active participation in the industry and policy discussions that shape our markets. We convene technical, commercial, and governmental stakeholders on the questions that determine how new capability is built, tested, and deployed.

02What We Do

Technical depth, federal and dual-use work, and the partnerships that move capability forward.

A few principles run through all four focus areas: serious work in federal environments, deep technical and programmatic experience, a clear dual-use orientation, and active participation in the industry and policy discussions where direction is set.

01 / Focus Area

Defense and National Security

SkyGround supports the Department of Defense, allied defense partners, and the national security community through technical program work, capability development, and projects tied to federal mission priorities.

Our focus spans defense manufacturing, capability integration, and the research-to-transition work that moves new technology into federal programs of record. Unmanned systems are one of several mission areas we engage with, mentioned here as an example rather than as our defining focus.

SkyGround already operates inside federal environments. We are not trying to enter them.

02 / Focus Area

Systems Integration and Technical Program Delivery

SkyGround brings the technical and programmatic depth required to lead complex systems integration, from program architecture through acquisition strategy, systems engineering, and delivery.

Our leadership has run large federal technical programs end to end: requirements, integration, testing, and transition into fielded capability. That experience shapes how we frame scope, structure execution, and work alongside government customers and prime contractor partners.

03 / Focus Area

Dual-Use Technology Development

SkyGround advances dual-use technology. That includes capability built for commercial markets that carries real value in defense and national security work, and technology built for defense that has legitimate commercial demand.

We work with technical and industry partners to move dual-use capability into the markets where it fits, across the certification, integration, and operational requirements each market brings. We are not a commercial firm looking for federal validation, and we are not a defense firm chasing commercial markets. We work where the technology itself crosses sectors.

04 / Focus Area

Industry and Policy Engagement

SkyGround takes an active role in the industry and policy discussions shaping our markets. We convene technical, commercial, and governmental stakeholders on the questions that determine how new capability is built, tested, and deployed.

That work includes forums, working groups, policy engagement, and continued participation in the discussions where defense, technology, and industry direction are set. We bring standing and perspective to those rooms, and we use them to move the work forward.

05 / Engagement

How SkyGround engages.

We engage work through direct federal contracts, prime contractor teaming, SBIR-anchored capability development, small-business-status pursuits as certification matures, and joint ventures with commercial partners.

Each of these paths serves the same goal: serious work, serious partners, and capability moved through the contracts and discussions that decide whether it reaches the field.

03Partnerships

Dual-track, dual-use, and open to partners where the work creates a path neither of us could build alone.

Our partnership work runs federal and commercial, built on the idea that meaningful capability increasingly lives at the intersection of both.

01 / What SkyGround contributes

Infrastructure and credentialing built for federal work.

Partnership with SkyGround is built on our federal infrastructure and the depth of our leadership team. Certification and clearance work is in motion and is part of how the firm is being built.

  • 01Federal contracting infrastructure and program management
  • 02Leadership with federal defense credentialing, including Top Secret clearance
  • 03Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business certification (pending)
  • 04Facility Clearance (pending), with sponsorship routes for qualified partners
  • 05Technical and programmatic depth across systems engineering and acquisition
  • 06Commercial capability brought into federal evaluation and acquisition environments
02 / Who fits

Selective, not soliciting.

SkyGround is open to the right partners: firms where dual-use technology creates a path neither side could build alone. The list is short by design.

  • Technical firms developing dual-use capability with federal relevance
  • Commercial firms exploring defense and national security adjacency
  • Industrial partners with manufacturing or integration capacity
03 / How to engage

A direct path.

Partnership inquiries come to us directly. We evaluate fit on the substance of the capability, the character of the partner, and the path both firms can build together. No application form, and no formal process.

04About

A firm built around the work it pursues.

01 / Who SkyGround is

SkyGround is a firm working at the intersection of defense, national security, and dual-use technology. Our partnership work runs dual-track across federal and commercial markets.

The firm was built deliberately: tight in scope, focused in its work, and organized around the work itself rather than around claims about the firm. SkyGround is in its establishment phase, and the structure is built for the long term.

02 / Leadership

SkyGround's leadership carries a combination of experience uncommon in firms at this stage. Members of the team have led multibillion-dollar federal technical programs, including the development, integration, and testing of defense systems. They have also worked at the front of federal advocacy and legislation, engaging directly with lawmakers and national policy discussions.

The team brings a long-standing community presence and a history of convening the industry forums and conferences where important conversations happen. Military and industry backgrounds run throughout the firm, spanning federal program offices, the defense industrial base, commercial industry, and allied international defense relationships.

Leadership holds Top Secret clearance.

03 / Location and credentialing

SkyGround is based in Indianapolis.
